This past spring, the Columbia women’s golf team swung its way to victory as Ivy League champions for the first time since 2007.
Despite cold, rainy weather at the Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey, the Lions achieved a tournament score of thirty-six over par, beating Harvard with the overall fewest swings per hole. Sophomores Sarah Shao and Christine Chang carried the team to a seven-shot lead, with Shao earning an impressive three over in the final round. Chang, who has previously broken several Columbia records, hit five birdies to score three under — the best single round for any competitor at the 2026 championship.
